OOTD – Denim, Lace, Clogs & Roses

Stylonylon - Swedish Hasbeens & Boohoo - UK fashion blog

I know, I know, this is all a bit cloying what with the (gorgeous, though!) pink roses and lace/denim contrasting…

But I couldn’t resist it, so apologies and I’m trying to emulate some gorgeous photos I saw on another blog yesterday. Look away now if you like things a bit rougher and tougher. I saw a girl rocking her Swedish Hasbeens (this criss-cross style) most awesomely last weekend charging through a park and reminded me of my own pair tucked away since last summer. I suppose they belong to the fugly crew being clogs, but in truth they are ever so pretty. And comfortable, of course. It’s quite hill-billy vintage mixing lace and denim dungarees – I think this whole look could be sharpened up with a pair of red spiky heels (don’t own such a thing, unfortunately) but I really am feeling the cuteness today. Flowers always make me smile (especially when they’re a gift, which these were – thank you beautiful Annabelly!) and I wish I made an effort to have more around, but then I feel guilty about the whole cut flowers things, so I tend not too. Hence why they’re so nice as a gift! I’m taking the little cookie out for a tea party this sunny afternoon and that does feel like such a treat – a friend who works in publishing has jus started her ‘summer hours’; translate, they all knock off at 1pm on Fridays. Who knew? Certainly not when I worked in publishing, but that was academic publishing, so more serious perhaps. Bring on the fun times. Do you get to knock of early on Fridays now that it’s summer?

I am wearing Boohoo dungarees c/o, Swedish Hasbeens braided style in nude and pink, TK Maxx top and ASOS rings.
