The lovely team gave me £100 Topshop vouchers to spend (and the editor Pandora Sykes said it was her favourite Style Star Q&A ever! Sorry, just had to embed that – it totally made my day!). So yesterday, being in town for a press day, I nipped into Topshop to to see what I could find. Rather than go for something trend driven I thought I’d stock up on some basics, two pairs of skinnies (both petite) and a silky white vest-top, it’s cut out at the back. What with the rainy spells I feel autumn coming on, that and all the Christmas press days! Anyway, the skinnies fit like a dream, and I love the acid wash on them (I think you can just about see that in the photos – the sun made everything yellow!) and I hope the stretch won’t sag or the knees go… can you believe these are my first pair of Topshop jeans apart from a maternity pair!
Despite yesterday being just one of those days, packing too much into too little time, we got there in the end. There being the Roundhouse where a friend of ours has an art installation called the Timepiece. Impressive hanging light sculpture in the darkness of the Roundhouse dome. The little one was a bit weirded out by it all, as well as all the people so we didn’t stay long and headed back home just as things started the liven up, sigh. Those cocktails were strong!
