Not an outfit to win any high fashion awards, but a pretty standard easy going Friday look for me. I haven’t posted an outfit of the day for a while because I broke the camera I usually take the photos with…
And I wanted to test out a new 35mm prime lens I bought for my Canon body – something I should have done ages ago but lenses are SO expensive! I actually found a second-hand one half price on eBay, coming in at £200. The only other lens I use for my Canon is a 50mm, which, because I haven’t got a full frame sensor body means I have to be miles away from the camera to get my whole body in. Which is the reason way I used my 35mm Leica X1 for my outfit posts – which I just received an eye-watering repair quote for, more than I actually paid for it!! So I’m trying to see if this lens will do, think I need to work a little on the focussing!
Anyway, enough camera chat. I’ve been wearing this amazing seafarer type chunky knit sweater almost all week, since the weather turned all autumn on us. It’s one I bought with my lovely Superdry vouchers for being a Company Forum Blogger of the Week earlier this summer and I’m really impressed with the quality. It’s definitely going to get a lot of use this winter. The jeans are a lovely old Free People pair I found at the back of my wardrobe (queue a wardrobe detox post forthcoming next month!) and of course, my shoe staple, black Birkis.
The pale pink scarf is one of a whole load I borrowed from the gorgeous Sanju at my local vintage shop Mero Retro to style up for my Three Ways: Vintage Scarves piece for blogzine Selfish Mother and on my nails I am wearing these absolutely brilliant glittery gold Incoco appliques which I received in the post yesterday. SO easy to apply, they’re much thinner than wraps I’ve used before, less like stickers more like the thickly pressed nail varnish they are. I am loving the gold and am waiting to hear back where to buy them as they will be perfect for our forthcoming trip to Ibiza – can’t wait, it feels like a dream!
I also wanted to say that next week is the other part of the Company Forum Blogger of the Week prize which is a shoot with Superdry for Company magazine’s Edit. I’m excited of course, but I’m actually getting pretty nervous now that it’s nearly upon us. I am, however, really looking forward to meeting the three other bloggers taking part! Hopefully I’ll be able to shoot a few behind the scenes photos, so keep your eyes peeled!
