A Little Peek Inside… Mero Retro, Clapton

Mero Retro | Vintage Shop | Clapton | UK fashion blog | Stylonylon

A few weeks ago, I popped into my local vintage store Mero Retro to have a chat with the lovely owner Sanju and take some photos…

I love ferreting out the fun details of a place and trying to replicate the magic through my camera. The Bhutanese and extremely stylish Sanju relocated Mero Retro, formerly in Camden, to east London where she now lives. Sanju loves Clapton and is an active member of the community and very friendly store owner – customers are often snapped trying on their favourite pieces for Facebook. She also kindly lent me a selection of scarves to style up for my fashion column with Selfish Mother and invited me back in for a styling session and to shoot some outfit posts – exciting!

Are you a fan of vintage? Is is a key part of your wardrobe? What was the last vintage piece you bought? I have to admit, I was probably at the height of my vintage buying when I worked and studied in Edinburgh, there are lots of great second hand and vintage shops there. Here in London, I’ve only really bought a couple of expensive vintage dresses, which I treasure and wear over and over I must say. But I’ve definitely lost my vintage rummaging edge. Maybe it’s a time thing. And now with mama duties thrown into the mix…

Check out Mero Retro on Instagram for Sanju’s regular style pics and how cool is her Pinterest board for Halloween inspiration? Love it!
