Fujifilm Instax Mini | Portable iPhone charger | 64GB data key | Memory card reader | UK fashion blog

I had a bit of a tech splurge transiting through Singapore airport, not once, but twice! Picked up a few things that have been on my mind for a while (portable phone charge & card reader) and succumbed to total impulse purchasing (um, a Fujifilm Instax Mini, ahem…!)

Portable iPhone charger – Such a brilliant idea! I’ve been wanting one for a while. Some come built into your bag (quite girl, over-the-top one here) or there are some cure design ones, like this one by Motorola, just £16.99 and does 2 and a half full charges. Mine just does one charge cycle. And how cool is this? A charger that powers anything USB.

Fujifilm Instax Mini film – The painful bit of film photography, the cost! 20 sheets for £14.98 on Amazon. Search though, there are places doing it cheaper…

Memory card reader – Transfers photos to your computer way faster than plugging in your camera. This fits a regular SanDisk compact card. I’ve yet to get one for my DSLR, but that is one the list! Super cheap, this Fujifilm one is just £4.99.

64 GB data key – Basically to use as a portable external photo library when travelling. I’ve got a 500GB G-Drive I use at home – I had to as my laptop was slowing with the number of pics I had in iPhoto. (I tried a Lacie rugged but it didn’t work very well, kept crashing my laptop so I switched and the G-Drive is much better). It’s pretty easy to transfer to an external hard drive (thank you Google!) and means no more worries how many photos you’re taking! 64 GB data key here for about £10.

Fujifilm Instax Mini 7s – Total impulse buy! But I’ve never had a camera like this before and it’s pure unobliterated fun – well, apart from the film cost, which hurts when a shot doesn’t come out that well… But printing out photos and storing them is something we do so little of these days and capturing a moment and having it right before you in a few minutes is immensely satisfying… see my scrapbooking here. There’s actually a 7s bundle to buy here.

  1. Nice article. I also have a mini 7 as well as the 210 and new mini 90. I get my film from ebay. You can get a pack of 5 for 25 quid. Usually takes a couple of weeks though as gets sent from China. If you have any decent sources i’d love to hear.

    1. Thanks! Yes, I can imagine they get quite addictive. Will check those models out… Ah, that’s the best price I’ve heard. Will def let you know if I find any other goodies… 🙂

  2. Hey, which store in Singapore airport did you buy the camera. Want to pick up some film on my way through.

    1. Ah it was just a tech store, big one on the left on the way to departures. There was a smaller one quite close by on the right… Sorry, hope that helps!
