One of the trends I spotted and loved at London Fashion Week was really over the top ear cuffs, or ear embellishments, as I like to call them…

Having had a look online, it seems they tend to be crazy expensive and loaded up with diamonds and crystals (as on Shopbop or Net-a-Porter) or coming in at less than a tenner, like the ones you can find on Claire’s Accessories and Nelly. Not sure if it’s worth shelling out hundreds for this trend, but it’s definitely one I’d like to incorporate into my look, so a few trial runs with the cheaper versions is definitely the first step. I’d really love it if there were some pieces priced somewhere in between too. Anyone know where?

At the moment I’m wearing cute little rose gold hoops I found on Etsy by Canadian seller Alufolie in my upper left ear where I have two piercings and a mix of fun studs from Mango. Getting piercings always felt like such a coming of age thing – I’ll never forget my first ones at a Saturday market in Denmark and then at university in Edinburgh going to get my higher ones with a best friend. Such a rush and always great fun. I nearly accompanied a friend to do hers at Camden Market at Christmas, but she chickened out at the last minute, haha! Almost thinking about getting another!

Worth noting that not all the styles require piercings, some do at the top and then clasp midway down the ear or some just hook over the whole ear. Have a look at the different styles…
