If spring/summer was all about blues and white for me, this autumn (suddenly feeling extremely imminent) is all about hues of brown and grey. Seen already in my Sunday Edit in the form of fringed suede and chestnut shoulder bag, I’m really feeling the addition of tonal caramel in the form of a cashmere boyfriend jumper

And chunky pale grey knit – both from Hush, who always do jumpers so well (there’s free delivery & returns until 31 August at to celebrate the new AW15 collection, code is LAUNCH15). I’ve also been trawling & Other Stories for their take on autumn trousers after never forgiving myself for missing out on their fab leather leggings last year. They do have a new leather style in this year, but with skin-revealing holes up the side, which I’m not completely sold on – like sleeveless rollneck tops, I don’t really get clothing that doesn’t know what it’s about; if it’s for keeping you warm by way of leather and neck-covering rolls then don’t be exposing glimpses of leg and whole arm. Just not wearable if you’re trying to keep warm, am I right? However these have sold out since I started writing this, so check out this flared pair instead.

So regarding the leather trousers, excited to see Hush has introduced a pair for the first time. A pair on its way to me, so will let you know how they work fit-wise – they have just introduced size 6 to the collection which is a boon for shorties like me! So if all goes as it should, leather trousers and wool culottes are my game plan for this September. Really loving this pair by & Other Stories (I may have just ordered these, ahem).

In other news, we’re off to a bit of a fancy pants do this week – the Scottish Fashion Awards. Which is the first getting really dressed up I’ve had to in a very long time, bar the odd wedding… So after an initial melt-down, I texted Erica who told me to check out The Finery. Having been super excited about the launch, I kind of never saw anything I really wanted so forgot all about them. But totally the right thing to do…!

I found an exquisitely elegant and billowing pair of wide trousers in dark navy satin which I’ve built an outfit around. High-waisted enough to allow of a sweet little cami top, showing off just an inch of higher tummy and, after a quick gung-ho waist alteration (just don’t be too tough on the lines at the back ok!) skimming the floor just right with my highest pair of ankle boots. To finish off I found this gorgeous Danielle Foster clutch on Urban Outfitters. So I feel pretty pleased that I have managed to put together a very understated but sleek look without spending a fortune.

So what’s the pink bottle all about? One of life’s little luxuries that might actually prove extremely useful. The beautifully designed bkr glass bottle with silicone sleeve (by two San Francisco lawyers) for filling with water to keep on your desk to make sure you actually get your daily intake. Something I am very guilty of not doing, wondering end of day why I’m so parched. A celeb and supermodel fave, this one is available from Cornwall’s summery Roo’s Beach.

Summer Gypsy Print

Speaking of summer, which I’m trying to remind myself we are still officially due despite it bucketing down outside, I’ve been eyeing up this lovely gypsy print from Nepenthe. Any one of these tops would be a worthwhile wardrobe addition, working equally well with blue denim or black, suede/leather jacket and fedora. And how cool is this Navajo-inspired yoga mat by LA brand La Vie Boheme? Yep, I definitely need this in my life. For 10% off at Nepanthe use the code STYLONYLON10. Let’s just pretend the sun is back with us, boho breezy nights and sunset yoga mornings…
