Work Those Boots

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

First off, do not underestimate the power of a pair of knee high boots! They’re not something I’ve really experimented before with but what a mistake! Pulling on this suede green pair for the Marks & Spencer #inherboots boot fit guide changed everything…!

What surprised me first was how good the fit was. And how well made they felt. My foot felt stable and comfortable and then paired with jeans and shirt (I love this shirt so much!) suddenly an impressive day look – perfect for meetings in town – had come together!

Like most bloggers, a regular day can vary for me quite significantly and it can involve heading into town for press events, meetings and shooting outfit posts to spending the bulk of the day answering emails and editing photos. And on occasion a quick dash back home and turnaround for an evening event is what is required; these boots are such showstoppers and so easily transformed from day to night with the addition of something like a velvet jacket – SO embracing the velvet trend right now!

I quite like creating an evening look that contrasts something glam (in this case the boots and jacket) with something super casual, like this simple sweater or tee. A very Isabel Marant approach to dressing for the evening! You still want to feel like yourself and look like yourself, rather than introduce a whole new look which you might not feel that comfortable.

What I love about these boots is that they are so wonderfully statement you can build quite a low-key look around them and still have a great look! Really impressed by them and cannot wait to wear again!
