Keep Chasing The Light

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAI have to admit I haven’t quite got my head around the new year yet. Most Januaries I’m carried along with the momentum of plans and goals whereas right now I feel I’m still standing still looking out on, I’m not quite sure what…

[ezcol_1half]Achieving the big things – Gus successfully started at school, happily settled in a new house, a fresh start on health and wellbeing as we approach 40 and the blog functioning better than I could have imagined – has left me, I don’t know, perhaps a little unsure about where to focus my energies. Looking around at the political landscape fills me with worry and concern and I rabidly devour articles forecasting optimistic outcomes in the face of seemingly inevitable impending doom. I feel like I should be gathering myself for an almighty burst of energy to somehow make everything right. But the big things are not really in our control sadly. [/ezcol_1half] [ezcol_1half_end]So I’m just going to keep on with more of the same, introducing new things here and there – hello YouTube and a longer term writing project. One of my favourite things to do is explore wherever I am, camera in hand and find the beauty. Or the light really. The most magical photographs are often ones where the light is doing something extraordinary. Although I read a lovely notion, more relating to photographing people, that the best photos are the ones that you can’t imagine having been taken a second before or later. That applies more to people and street photography really, not the more staged stills of the Instagram universe. [/ezcol_1half_end]

  1. Feeling the same way but there is so much you can do. To be passively active – to share information – to bring your voice to change. you just have to decide how you (your voice and talents) want to participate, not if. You may find this inspiring / interesting https://www.vogue.com/13512847/daily-action-alerts-cell-phone-fight-trump/ – it’s for the states but undoubtably the U.K will have something similar soon … this too: https://leotielovely.blogspot.fr/2016/11/gonegreen2016-day-235-sustainable.html?m=1 … you can chase the light and help make this world right 😉 xx

  2. I’m a new-ish reader but your photos are utterly fab. Looking forward to reading more of your posts 🙂
