Nice Top | Three Ways

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAI loved Jess Cartner Morley’s (yesterday’s gorgeous brunch date in green velvet!) article on going-out tops recently. Harking back to the day when going out just meant finding a nice top to throw on over jeans…

You know, back in the 2000s ;). But its merits should not be written off as a nice top really is the dressing solution to so many spontaneous situations; e.g. eek, someone’s invited us to the ballet tonight – ok, this really did happen to us recently, haha! – or eek, what to wear for dinner tonight? What’s much improved is that nice tops seem to have got a whole lot nicer. So here I’ve chosen three – simple black, a cutout shirt and a jumper to show how they can work with a basic jeans (these ones by Gap – I know!) and boots (v obsessed with Chamberi, yes I may have these in snakeskin print too). I know party season is officially over but you never know what dry January might have hiding just round the corner…
