Denim Cubed

I’ve got a whole lotta blue going on in this outfit. Daring double denim with a denim cap on top not signalling a sombre mood, more like a heady swirl as I read the news about the UK snap general election to be called as I stepped out of the house…

Ever the optimist, I’m already hoping against hope that something positive can come out of this and maybe it’s time to give the Lib Dems another chance, if only to weaken May’s majority. I could go on, I’ve been manically checking the news today for seeds of hope which are easy to conjure up on a sunny spring day showing London at its best. Which is why, whatever lies ahead, I have a skip in my step and am feeling energised and positive after one of the best holidays I’ve had in a long time! While my head is bursting with plans and ideas, more importantly I’ve managed to initiate a daily yoga session (half an hour, via an app on my iPhone) and it sure is making me feel good. Easy to implement on holiday, less so back in the hustle and bustle of home life and work, but I’m really gonna try! Not least because I love wearing these brilliant new Gap leggings, which at Capri length fit me better than any other pair I’ve ever had!
But to this outfit! Spring always brings out the denim jacket in my wardrobe and I love this super lightweight one by Hush. It’s got just the right look and feel. Hush cap too btw. Mainly because my hair needs a trim, but also because the denim is a nice option for spring summer when woollen caps feel to sombre. So my love affair with every variation of bucket bag (I think for me this denotes anything with a flat bottom, which is my key need for easy and safe carrying of cameras!) and this is a gorgeously minimal new SS17 tote by Baia bags. I love the two side pockets with can take a phone, keys and slim purse, ideal of stashing in those moments you need to! A rounded neck and striped boucle make this Baukjen top a little more than a tee and since espadrilles and very thoroughly back on the menu for (eek, these just arrived!) I’m already breaking in the Sezane ankle ties. Jeans are last year’s, DIY hems come on very nicely!
