Sorry for the sombre expression in some of these photos, just keeping it cool in line with the cool sunnies! See below for more assurance that I was actually in quite a buoyant mood when shooting these pics, not least because nailing a summer outfit is quite a big tick in my book…!
The most perfect, long-strapped-with-a-clasp basket bag that has made it to the top of the list of my perfect travel bags at the moment – you know, the capacious kind that you can easily get into and looks fantastic with scarf/book/magazines/water poking out. Cos y’know, bags gotta accessorise too right! You’ll be seeing this clutched to my shoulder as I travel to Greece next week, island bound and heady with it… Plus the resurrection of a top I had trouble connecting with last year. For some reason me and this lacy trimmed Ganni number just didn’t click. The right foot was not got off on, and yet when I pulled it on and then added this quite flamboyant (for me!) low-hanging necklace by Nocturne, I just knew an important set of bonds had been made; between me, top & tassel. Call me crazy, yeh whatevs, you’ll be seeing this combo again; more Nocturne pieces here.
Before I get back to the sunnies, let me return to the bag, which is from The Noces – an Aladdin’s cave of wonderful hand-woven treasures; an array of interesting styles and colours, you will find the one that steals your heart like the Mara did mine. And yes, the Madeleine too – constantly selling out, for good reason! And the new chains – the super sweet starfish (what a refreshing way to do a star!) from Ellora London, making the most charmingly delicate pieces which still have their very own personality. Does that sound weird? Recently I’ve found a lot of jewellery to feel a bit soulless which is why I’ve been exploring vintage pieces over at Bear’s. But some are just special, like the fat little crescent moon from New York jeweller Manon. All the better to see you with my dear moon, with my supercool Jimmy Fairly cat’s eye frames. From Paris, natch.
