Life Lately

Top denim fraying tip! Cut them, then stick them in the wash and you’ll get this lovely fray. Which may sound obvious really, but I hardly ever wash my jeans, so has gone totally unnoticed to me to date…

The advice came from the lovely team behind new brand Iden Denim. Sustainable, affordable with strong British style and styling. Beautiful vintage inspired prints, pretty tops and dress, and cool tennis club jackets, I cannot wait for them to launch next year – see a mini behind the scenes of my visit here; blog post in the works! Other things I have learnt this week: Oatly Barista milk is a fantastic dairy alternative & froths beautifully (thankyou to every one of you who let me know about this!), tumeric lattes are delicious (with aforementioned oat milk), alternative therapies don’t need to cost the earth (hallo E5 Acupuncture £25 sessions!) and coconut oil is an absolute saviour for chicken pox (little Gussie came down with it this week and so far this has prevented any scratching!). And also Lauren’s #GirlVsCancer is going great guns with the launch of her new site – 25% of t-shirt sales going to partner charities Coppafeel, Future Dreams, Trekstock and Look Good Feel Better. I have the fried eggs one, so many brilliant designs!
Moving on steadily from lifestyle to fashion… Blogger collaborations do work! Lucy’s new collection with Missoma builds on the success of the first and is just as, if not more, covetable! I’m wearing two of the more delicate pieces perfect for layering – the lariat and mini coin – and awaiting the arrival of the beaded coin which I can’t wait to mix in with my faves. The check coat seems to be the absolute must have wardrobe piece, not just this season, but next too – Gucci SS18 showed it worn over all sorts of outfits from ballgowns to casual. So of course, so many are sold out (eg this Zara one, which Arianna was wearing yesterday, comes up big by the way! NB: restocked!) and this lovely double breasted one at Topshop (totally sold out!). So I’ve just ordered this Zara one in the hopes it will be the one! Would have been the perfect addition to yesterday’s coffee date look of the snug and softest merino (see the level of refinement it goes through on my King & Tuckfield post) knit, charge about town heels and cutest little bag you ever did from focus-on-the-makers Waremakers.
