My first Sunday Edit of 2018! Where has this year gone? Goodness! A handful of new favourites to share with you – from vegan skincare to affordable but so-chic bags and a brilliant capsule wardrobe edit – so grab a cuppa…
You know those things which you have seriously no idea how you coped without before? Well – hear me out on this – having gone over to the (weird to some, I know!) world of mist sprays around this time last year, I’ve finally got utterly hooked on one! The Coconut Dew Mist from vegan, organic & cruelty free skincare brand West Barn Co. (a mother & daughter team – love!) is like a welcome mist of summery heaven after a face cleanse for me now. Even more so post baths. Re mists, I just feel like I need that first spritz setting the facial hydration bar before anything else happens now. And the extra positivity of knowing that you are putting on such an eco-natural (love that term!) product as your first layer is integral to my day’s start and end.
Also from West Barn Co. I’ve also been using the lovely bog myrtle Balancing Cleanser – very calming and gentle to the face. And baby steps with the hyaluronic acid Smoothing Primer – as you know how basic I am when it comes to makeup ha! I’ve been smoothing on a pea sized amount pre foundation, although it needs to be properly smoothed out and rubbed in. 😉 Such a slapdash person, gah!
So sorry you can only see a snippet of the black shirt from Born At Dawn‘s brilliant capsule wardrobe collection – apologies! But a full post is coming, so you will see it properly soon. Founded by ex-retail buyer Lucy Knights, Born At Dawn is a carefully curated collection of beautiful pieces at mid-range prices, but absolutely nowhere near throwaway fashion in terms of quality. These are pieces you want to keep for the longterm.
Comfortable and versatile being key words, Lucy has created her own capsule wardrobe edit which includes the drapey black shirt, comfortable as leggings jeggings, a perfect white t-shirt and more. I’ll be reviewing a few of the pieces on the blog later this week, so keep any eye out!
Also key to every wardrobe at the moment is the baker boy cap – I found one in grey here. And new in from one of my favourite candles brands Ancienne Ambiance is this gorgeous Bacca Berry scented candle – fruity goodness, I can’t stop burning it!
It’s so exciting to see so many new more affordable – but still high on cache and style – handbag brand additions to sites such a Net-A-Porter and MyTheresa. It doesn’t have to be all about the £1000 price tag. I Instagram-stumbled on this quite fabulous design by London based Danse Lente (‘slow dance’ en Francais!) and was thrilled to see how minimal but with a twist all their designs were – check out the coming soon mini Phoebe and the bucket styles and rest of the current collection! I’ve never been drawn to this style of handbag before, but the clincher for me was the two inside spacious compartments; I mean you can fit a small camera in each plus various other odds & sods. I will be wearing this a lot!
