For the first look, it seemed a no-brainer to pair the silk tee with a pair of skinnies. Blue is such a lovely way to bring out grey and I love the classic simplicity of the tee’s design. I can’t believe I don’t have something similar in my wardrobe already – a luxe tee is a brilliant solution to so many getting-dressed dilemmas. You look smart, like you’ve made an effort (but not too much!) and you don’t have to worry about necklines or waistlines. And the patten on this tee is so pretty – also it reminds me of the type of print my mum used to wear of a lot of.
The second look was a little bit more difficult as I didn’t want it to look too polished, the top being a bit more glam. The perfect opportunity for frayed boyfriends. I wasn’t sure whether to tuck in or leave loose so in the end I went for a mix of the two – as I’m quite little, when wearing boyfriends, I need some waistline showing or else I get swamped. I added the lace-up heels for a touch of grunge. I shot the photos without a top layer so you could see the tops, but both looks would be perfect with a blazer on top – I’d go for a bigger, boxier style with Look 1 and a shorter fitted style for Look 2. Both tops are also available in store.
ps. See Part 1 here. And next week I’ll be posting the final evening wear part!
