Simple pleasures are often the answer. They’re what allows you to drift away into your mind – daydreaming isn’t just pure indulgence you know, it’s actually gearing you up for your next buzz of productivity (or least I think this is what this Guardian article is saying!). But I would say that. Always a daydreamer, I used to walk down the street eyes to the sky, mind elsewhere, and bump into lampposts way more often than is cool. I once even got into a fight with a loop of string, I can tell you who came of the lesser in that one and it wasn’t the string. Ahem.
Delicate or chunky? I’m flip-flopping between the two when it comes to jewellery at the moment and right now I’m flipping with these gorgeous stacker rings by NOWSEEN.com (ethically sourced gemstones at great prices, each of these is under £15 – and until 30 April you can 30% off anything on the site with the code STYLO30, enjoy!).
While musing on the delicacy of bands of gold plate, I’ve been inhaling this beautiful candle infused with the scent of Hawaiian flowers from Connock London (a favourite of Gwynnies, and today I salute her – really, her and her relationship is nobody’s business). Jasmine and gardenia notes are perfect for getting in the happy holiday mood, which is why, I’ve also been perusing the Mr & Mrs Smith’s Family Annual – yes, seven nights at Soneva Fushi in the Maldives would suit us just fine, thankyou!
And finally I’ve been fighting a battle of the wills, promising myself not to open this gorgeous pot of MuLondon Chocolate cream – it’s destined for the Fashion Targets Breast Cancer launch party raffle next month and not to be interfered with! (Big thanks to A Beautiful World for donating some lovely natural & organic products to my Stylonylon raffle hamper!)
What do you do to wind down and take yourself out of the fray?
