Running About Town

Monochroming in Soho while the sun is still shining! Smartened up with a white shirt and tuxedo jacket by Hush of which I have one to giveaway, so read on…!

Today I headed to Greek Street for a press day and the most delicious catch-up over a cream tea of scones for lunch in Soho’s Secret Tea Room – ok, we had a few finger sandwiches first – but real clotted cream I will do any time of day. I was hoping my face was still a little plumped up from last night’s trial of the new Perricone facial just launched at the George Northwood hair salon.

Dr Perricone is one of those celeb beauty gurus in the US, from what I understand, and is all about feeding yourself beautiful, with lots of Omega-6 rich foods and a range of parabens-free skincare products which tackle ageing skin. 15 minutes with Swedish beauty expert Emina and her massage technique was a pretty revelatory experience; forget botox and fillers, this is the way forward for when needed!

So I am absolutely loving the new Stan Smiths and adore how good they look with skinnies. Which brings me onto a sudden realization; skinnies really are the jeans of autumn – they keep you warmer clinging so tight, but also as you’re likely to be wearing a big coat/jacket/blanket scarf on top you need something neater and less billowy below. But with skinnies it’s all about the quality, you can’t be doing with sagginess at the knees, so one or two really decent pairs are the way to go. These black ones are by British brand Hudson, and the quality is so good I don’t have that nervous moment when kneeling for too long, the stretch just pings back!

Anyway, I thought this look was perfect for my day out rushing around Soho and if you like the look of the jacket – how amazing would this look with a pair of black stilettos, btw? – then just leave me a comment below (and follow me on instagram and/or retweet the post for extra entries – just let me know what you’ve done in the comment!) and I will pop all entries in my hat and pick a winner at random! Closing date 21 Oct 2014 and open internationally.

And finally, a few more deets on what’s happening over at Hush this month. The October Event this month has just launched with a 10% discount code – OCTEVENT – which each day will qualify you for additional offers like a free gift, free order (amaze!) or premium or free delivery. Up for some tombola fun? Start by checking out this gorgeous jumper (I’m wearing it on insta here), this snow leopard cashmere scarf (vois ici) and the perfect parka.

I am wearing a Hush tuxedo jacket*, Boden shirt*, Hudson jeans* via Repetoire, Adidas Stan Smiths (found lots of women’s sizes at Schuh!) and Village England bag*

    1. Hello!

I was wondering when the winner will be announced! I do not want to rush you. I am just excited!

      1. Hi Margarita – ah, I’m so sorry, the winner (@ovalsoul) was contacted and announced last week on Twitter. I have been meaning to announce on the blog as well, apologies! But thankyou so much for entering and for being excited and another giveaway coming soon! Happy Halloween and have a lovely weekend…! Julia x

  6. They say imitation is the greatest flattery and I love this look and will definitely be trying to recreate!

  7. Ooh I love hush clothes, I get so excited when I get one of their catalogues through the door. Love the way you’ve styled this jacket, loving the whole look

  8. Love the video! And think the jacket looks cool as you’ve styled it, dressed down with Adidas but would defo be tempted to try with stilettos too. Good tip! X

  9. Love your style! I am quite small, too, and it helps me decide what works when I see you put things together. Thank you so much!

  10. Would LOVE the jacket, fingers crosses. Think it would dress up my burgeoning bump nicely… Am insta-stalking and RT’d (@helenanicholls).

  11. Love your blog which I just discovered! I love fashion inspiration that works for every day. This jacket is great and seems very versatile, which is what I look for in clothing as the mother of a two-and-a-half-year old whose day often includes both playground and board room :-).

  12. Could you tell me what size the Hush jacket is that you are wearing? It helps to know what size to order to get the same look, as I am quite small also, but I like things on the loose side. Thanks! I love the look! Great jacket!

    1. Hi – yes, this is a size 8. I don’t think they do any smaller. I’d usually take a size 6-8 as quite narrow on the shoulders, but this is perfect for that slightly oversized look! 🙂
