Sometimes I feel like I’m just starting at the beginning. Stripping back my wardrobe to the simplest, but most quality, components. The aim being to create outfits that are simple, classic, easy but eye-catching….
This autumn has been all about that. I made quite a serious investment in a camel coat, joined the Stan Smith crew, evolved my boyfriends into the more tailored territory, found the perfect white tee and chunky woollen hat. (My theory is that if you’re cosy on top, you can get away just a few days longer with bare ankles as the temperature drops… The question is whether I’ll dare this next week in Vienna!)
When you have the basics, that’s when you can start to experiment with more complicated looks a la Leandre Medine and Yasmin Sewell. But for now, this kind of hi-low look suits me just fine. Taking pleasure in the good quality of each piece, knowing that has a well-deserved place in my wardrobe. And I hope to being wearing this look next winter. Let’s see, shall we?!
