I’ve finally cracked it! The perfect work from home outfit. Being freelance for nearly seven years now, wearing something comfy that feels like pyjamas but isn’t pyjamas has been an ongoing battle…
Tracksuit bottoms and leggings get misshapen, socks end up with holes in the ankles, jumpers can feel a tad restrictive or too hot. The first piece of the puzzle actually happened a couple of years ago when a fashion ed friend introduced me to yoga trousers by Wellicious. Having seen the silky quality and perfect draping, I promptly bought two pairs of the 3/4 yoga pants (all made from organic cotton and the eco-friendly stretchy Lyocell) for homewear and home yoga. I wore them daily. The grey pair I’m wearing are the harem style Liberty Pants; tight at the ankles giving a little shape to an otherwise pretty shapeless, hence the comfort, look.
The next piece in my now-perfect triumvirate are these shoe slippers by Mahabis – slippers for hipsters I think I read somewhere! Although do hipsters even exist anymore? Does anyone even care? Perfectly slate grey and snug like a slipper but with a thin black sole for house wear and sturdier attachable rubber soles for popping outside – utter genius! – I bought the dark grey classic bundle and chose the pinky red soles. I’m planning on buying everyone these for Christmas!
And the final part is a bit of a cliche, but one I hadn’t thought of. Oversized cashmere. This roll neck knit is cosy but not too hot – I’ve been wearing with a thin vest underneath. Its boxy body and side slits allow for movement and mobility and goes perfectly with the yoga pants and shoes. Super, super happy. This is pretty much what I’ll be wearing this entire winter when not out and about. Already a few days in, I couldn’t recommend it more.
