Boyfriend jeans are the obvious go to and I’m guessing your wardrobe is swelling in this section just as fast as mine. But, hey ho, piles of denim are my sartorial security blanket I guess. There’s some great new denim over at Wrap London which is where these patch dyed soft fade beauties came from – thanks ladies! The cut is neater than the old style boyfriends, what I and others have referred to as the girlfriend at times, but now it seems that boyfriends are morphing into girlfriends as this is what people want to wear. More flattering overall. Anyway, very into the whole Wrap autumn/winter gentle basics aesthetic so go take a peek.
The other brand I want to talk to you about is A Day in a Life. A day-to-night concept (a capsule collection of strong separates that will work hard for you round the clock) from a former fashion industry insider who now splits her time between London, Austria and a surf station in Crete. Yes, I know. Me too. I met the extremely passionate founder and designer Davina Payne last week and chose this quite fabulous silk top to try out – if you look closely you can see the design incorporates little elements from Davina’s life like carkeys and a house. And this beautiful silk chiffon design is based on windsurf sails (love these shots of Davina wearing it with her gorgeous little girl)… Flowing and glam, the perfect match for daytime Saturday jeans like in this look or ideal girlie dinner date if paired with black skinnies, which is how I’m wearing it tonight down Somerset way. Hop on over to Instagram to see what I’m getting up to on this rainy start to the week…!
