Jewellery – the kind I like; minimal but statement – is becoming easier to find these days. And I can’t believe I hadn’t come across the brilliant Cold Lilies before. Not only do they stock some of my already faves, but while putting together an edit of my favourite pieces for them I discovered some to add to my list…
EA Burns, Clarice Price Thomas and Jessie Harris you may already know about through my repeat mentions, but say hello to Niza Huang – designer of the gorgeous stick necklace, bracelet and earrings I’m wearing – and Kirstie MacLaren of the silver bar ring.
I love jewellery that doesn’t overpower you, but merely accentuates and supports but at the same time defines your style. I like jewellery that is easy to wear, isn’t fiddly, has strong shapes and knows what it’s about. I like both delicate and chunky but both styles have to ensure a minimal aesthetic for me. And because of how I like to connect to a piece, I tend to wear the same pieces over and over again, quite often daily.
I think I’ve said this before but certain necklaces and rings, through repeat wear, can end up feeling like a talisman to me, protecting and ensuring confidence. And when I come home, ready to change clothes and curl up I always take my army of rings off (though a small chain always stays on!).
I’m not much of a bracelet wearer I will admit, but I thought I’d try one and I must admit I think it looks very pretty and not at all too try hard. A delicate touch that looks quite sweet! These are all exactly the kind of pieces I’d like to add to my ever growing jewellery collection, they feel considered and sophisticated and pieces I’d be proud to own in years to come.
