So London Fashion Week was a whirl and a wind and over before you could find yourself a nice café for a coffee break! All in all, I had a busy time of it, so here’s a little re-cap of what I wore and what I did…
Day 1 was the least hectic for me. Thank goodness, given we had only managed to get into to our new house at 5pm the night before! Home was a storm of boxes and getting the kitchen and beds set up so we could all function at least! Nevertheless, I made it out (into the rain as it turned out!) to see Felder Felder at the Freemason’s Hall.
Dressed in Urban Outfitters (check out my highlights over on their blog) luckily I had a brolly with to protect my suede from the torrential episodes. The buzz of the show was brilliant, the flirty rock chick models Felderised sexy as ever and I bumped into all sorts of lovely people including Plum and Sara. Afterwards I headed over to the crazy new fashion week centre, Brewer Street, crammed with street stylers and photogs and popped into the blogger-filled The Apartment to check out what was going down. Lots of KFC and popcorn it turned out which was truly welcome!
The Saturday was a working day for me. I joined the Topshop editorial team at Fashion East on Greek Street and snapped Lulu Kennedy’s latest squad of new designers presenting at the Conde Nast College of Fashion and L’Escargot, one of London’s oldest restaurants. See my shots of the show on Topshop’s Inside Out blow here. Back to Topshop HQ – what a rooftop view! – before onto 1205 at a beautiful open-roofed venue in Covent Garden’s Floral Street. Wearing my fave non-trainer shoes, platform loafers by Grenson and fab new Holi Global coat, I carried my laptop in a capacious Radley tote for who I was also doing an Instagram takeover.
Sunday was the big day for me with the Topshop Unique SS16 taking place. I arrived just after ten at the QE II Conference Centre and got stuck in with the team shooting images for the Topshop Instagram. See all the Insta shots I took for Topshop here. Backstage pre-show was a buzz, models, make-up artists, videographers, bloggers creating a massive gaggle, luckily the venue was spacious enough for everyone and everything!
I loved the styling of the show, wide open blue shirts and skinny belts tied around everything, and, of course, the red lip (a bit of thing this LFW) which I’ll probably never wear but good to know about at least. As part of the editorial crew I had to dress all in black so went for a pair of brilliant flared corduroy black dungers…
And my fave shots I took for the Topshop insta…
Come Day 4, I got all dressed for lunch in Brewer Street and afterwards Cafe Royal for a blogger’s tea, but you know what, I was so dog-tired I couldn’t do it and cried off all my plans… has to be done sometimes I think! So, hope you enjoyed the little round-up and til next LFW then!
All photographs taken by me on the Olympus Pen E-PL7, as ever!
