I’m kind of loving the not-quite-autumn yet climate right now. Downpours aside, there’s a touch of crispness to the air hinting at the cold to come, but still completely pleasant and receptive to light layering and the odd cosy piece without the actual real need for it. You know what I mean?
So my I’ve got bare feet in my boots and one layer of tee, breezy with jersey and faux shearling layering. This coat btw, the one of my dreams. It’s the milky latte colour, it’s the woolly curls; like a blanket (and surprisingly like my new Berber carpet in texture!). So in love, by Plumo, who’ve I’ve only just discovered and fallen head over heels for. I was just thinking this morning how brilliant their lifestyle take is, appealing to the bit of the country girl tucked away in me who harbours dreams of spending isolated weeks typing away on a novel in a log cabin somewhere wearing big crazy knits, like this Ranveig one, and wrapping up in shearling curls. There’s a longer version too, which I wasn’t sure might be a bit big on me but I have designs on nonetheless.
My feets are actually loving the new Ugg Australia Abrees, having charged about in them today, the magic being you don’t overheat in sheepskin, and I think they look nice on the ankle. As much as I love the original classic Ugg boot, and I am a die-hard fan I’ve never been ashamed to say, I think there’s a real place for this slightly smarter, slim fit look and I loved wearing it today.
Layering over the white tee (of course The White Company does good ones, that’s a given surely!) is my new fave slouch cardi from Uncivilised who I can’t get enough of and am so excited to see their stock now up online, having first seen the collection a few months ago on a studio visit. The pieces are super well thought out and not in anyway overpriced. Cool 90s and dancehall chic undertones in excellent denim and jersey basics. I need more! The denim will be up soon; I’m obsessed with the ripped blue jeans I’ve been previewing.
In other news, life is settling down, now that we finally beat the IKEA wardrobe into submission, well, apart from the fact that one of my sliding doors groans and squeals like it’s in deep pain but we’ll address that eventually (neither of us can quite face another trip for replacement metal parts at this point, haha!) but the rest of the new house is taking shape slowly. I have a couple trips coming up over the next few weeks including my first ever time in New York about which I’m childishly excited and then, well, then it’s time to get ready for Christmas surely! It’ll be our first London one, so I’m getting a little stoked about doing it proper! More on that soon…
