Like buses, not a singleone and then suddenly two come along at once. In this case, trench coats. Something I’ve never found has fitted me that well before and always felt strange to wear – a lot depends on the collar I find and how neat it is to your shoulders…
So you may have seen the M&S one everyone went crazy for which is practically sold out now, from the #ArchiveByAlexa collection, which was a dark racing green. But let’s be honest, nothing beats the perfect latte-coloured trench and this one by Jaeger has the retro collar absolutely bang on and actually, I buttoned down the lapel corners which made the whole thing look much neater for when you’re wearing open.
Frayed straight jeans (from new Grlfrnd denim brand at Revolve, I DIYed this myself the day before) and loafers seemed the obvious easy add-ons with stripes (gentle Breton variant) and the second absolutely nailed it from Jaeger, this 70s style saddle bag. Really loving it. It feels and looks authentic, if you know what I mean. I’ve seen similar styles which just don’t ring right sometimes and so have avoided. But this is a winner, particularly because the quality is so good. Oh, and the belt is by them too.
This outfit saw me through a couple of press days (still on Snapchat if you want to see @stylonylon) and a lovely catch up with some blogger pals over coffee and a new cafe find – I’m continuing to collate all my fave London (and other cities) cafes and shops under #STYLNcityguides on Instagram so do have a look and explore if you’re looking for somewhere new!
So we changed our plans by a few days and are heading to Portugal this weekend, where it will still be thunderstorms galore egad! So look out for forthcoming post Things To Do In The Algarve When It’s Raining! Stay tuned…
