Sunday Edit | Household Edition

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERASometimes it’s the really useful day-to-day things that we overlook and take for granted. Just wanted to give these a little love…

So where to start? I realise I’ve had my new phone case for nearly two months now – and yes, I am that person who has it surgically attached to my hand, ahem! – and it’s my favourite one ever for it’s feel and snug fit on my phone. It’s a lizard effect leather by The Case Factory and they have some really unusual designs, I couldn’t resist the pineapple one!

Cups of tea and chocolate are very much an everyday after lunch ritual for me and I’m currently working my way through a lovely selection of Rococo chocolate, I’m not one for flavours but the Earl Grey is delicioso! New little cup is Brooklyn made and from Wood/Grey (so is the beautiful Guatemalan made cushion!) and I like it so much I keep it in my office just to look at on some days. The cast iron teapot I bought from Paper Tiger but you can also find at Trouva (where you can also now find my Mimi & Stylonylon camera accessories too now – eek!).

Doing the dishes is a less favourite pastime but I’ve long been using eCover and love their new bottle made from recycled plastic from the ocean, totally brilliant initiative, exclusively at Waitrose. And super reliable and so much cosier and more comfortable then any other welly boot I’ve ever owned are this brilliant pair of Muck Boots which I often slip on when it’s raining for walks.

And new beauty that has fast become an essential daily part of my life are products from Malin + Goetz and Lavera. I’ve been trying out a few Malin products (the lipbalm and sage candle) and really falling in love with this brand – very focussed on natural ingredients and only including in the mix what really needs to be there. I’m absolutely obsessed with the facial cleansing oil, it’s so gentle on the skin and yet thoroughly removes any make-up, especially mascara which I am useless at getting off properly.

Lavera is a totally brilliant French skincare brand which is organic but priced so reasonably! Eg the handcream comes in at just £6.95 and  bodywash at £8.95 – love the kid’s one – and shampoo for £5.95 – excellent prices for those things you use everyday!

Maybe not everyday but certainly every time I manage to have a bath, I use this gorgeously relaxing birch arnica oil from Dr Hauschka, I’ve always loved the smell of arnica and find it works so well on sore muscles and bruises.

  1. Another lovely Sunday Edit. The Malin and Goetz facial cleanser and the Lavera products are really hot tips, and pleasantly affordable (I do find some of your recommendations on the pricey side, I’m afraid).

Don’t you just love Ecover? The horrible amount of plastic going into the world’s oceans is a bit of a bugbear of mine (I wrote a post about microbeads on my extremely occasional blog a while back) and this Ocean Bottle is just great. When I saw your photo of it, it took me a moment to process, as I couldn’t believe anything that stylish was “just” washing-up liquid.

For anyone interested in marine conservation, ocean ecology, sustainability and the viability of coastal communities, may I recommend the charity Blue Ventures ( Their work is visionary in its practicality, and their blog posts (at are sublimely beautiful.

    Merry Christmas.
