Thinking Ahead For Spring

Since I’m already seeing snowdrops make their way onto Instagram (if not yet IRL, but maybe I’m just not looking hard enough!) it feels like maybe, maybe, maybe it’s time to start considering the implications of a spring-not-that-far-off-in-the-future (Trump-style apocalypse to one side) on one’s wardrobe and dressing…

[ezcol_1half]I mean number one will be socks off! I really struggle with sock wearing and regular trainers through the winter. Obviously ankle boots are the answer, but sometimes you just want to wear your regular trainers and still keep you ankles safe. In the end I had to resort to some very proper socks (Stance at Roos Beach and Falke) for neat-fitting, no rolling down socks that keep those few inches of dangerzone bare skin covered. And with patterns too, not a route I thought I’d go down, but with the Vans, I kind of like looking down at my feet and imagining I’m a teenage skater boy. Weirding you out much? [/ezcol_1half] [ezcol_1half_end]But re coats, I’m kinda moving from big fluffy fauxs to longer more demure cocoon shapes and, perhaps, somewhat prematurely onto a smaller puffa jacket. This Mango one from the sale (sold out now, sorry!) was perfect for the day we shot, but temperatures have since dropped so I’m back in the cocoon coat. I also wore a bandana necktie as an alternative to huge grey scarf, to keep the neck warm. It’s still possible to get another cough/cold y’know. Anyway these are my little steps towards spring, not quite hardy enough to lose socks and jumpers quite yet, but soon, soon I hope! [/ezcol_1half_end]
