Sunday Edit | A Wonderful Adventure

I suppose this should be a Mother’s Day edit (Happy Mother’s Day all you mums out there!) but actually today feels like a celebration not only of motherhood but of spring, happiness and all the pretties…

The sun is just glorious and warm today and I feel full of the joys. Excited for life, this wonderful adventure! And that really is the key, if you can wake up each morning feeling that, then you got this. Of course, every wonderful adventure needs some gorgeous accessories 😉 So these are my picks to make things run smoothly and as prettily as possible…

Let’s do the right thing and bring back the denim jacket for this spring/summer! I have a much loved old one, but I must say this super light soft denim is the perfect style – just  in from Hush, dropping 28 March. Its cut is all kinds of perfect and looks brilliant over a light tee. Worn with soft cotton trousers and slip-ons (love a retro slip on, try these cute peeptoes!) I think I’ve found my perfect Sunday outfit (just swap in hardier trainers for a travel outfit, which is what I’m planning when we set off for Easter hols in the not to distant future!).

And bucket head obsessive as I am, I just couldn’t resist this absolute classic shape in tan – the flat base is perfect for camera carry and just for being able to find this. Um, how many tan bags do I have now…? My lips are well and truly sealed, ahem. Oh, and take a virtual sniff of this lovely cedar ash & patchouli candle

I’ve just never been able to hack an underwired bra for longer than a couple of hours at a time. Not really that practical! I had to smoothly divest myself of one the other night at a dinner party; I’m such a dab hand at this – unclip, one shoulder off, pull through sleeve – my dinner companions applauded me. But much better to have something soft and comfy that’s just as pretty. Bodas make all their lingerie just the way I like; minimal, simple, comfy. And how pretty in soft petal pink? Now why shouldn’t your makeup be super natural and organic too? Last week I attended the launch of the new Dr Hauschka makeup range (pressing flowers in one of Soho’s oldest buildings!) to coincide with their 50th anniversary. I’m already addicted to their foundations, but the new formulation – as well as smelling good enough to eat! – is really quite something. It slides on and blends in, the 02 is just right for my skin shade, and just evens out your skin perfectly. A little attention to my eyes with a cover-up stick and…

The mascara is lovely, rich, creamy in black and really bulks up the eyelashes and the black eyeliner glides on well and then I just smudge it up a little. If I’m really splashing out, I’ll add a dusting of the bronzer. Lipstick and eyeshadow are also part of the range, and people were raving about these, but that’s one step to far for me really – being someone who hasn’t changed her makeup routine since the age of 16, ahem. But absolutely gorgeously made products with 95% organic ingredients. Treat your skin and yourself.
