This White Shirt Is The Perfect Summer Staple

I just wanted to show you this absolutely gorgeous white ruffle shirt – from the new summer collection by slow & ethical fashion & homeware site The Small Home

Founder Ayesha McCormack has the most exquisite taste and casual style – her house is to die for btw! – and this year she’s evolving her capsule fashion collection with some new designs for SS19.

I asked Ayshea to tell me a little bit about the shirt’s creation:

“This shirt is made from a delicate, hand-spun and hand-woven cotton voile, which gives it a beautifully light and soft feel – perfect for breezy summer days.

“I always like to keep the design of my pieces over-archingly simple and classic, but with some carefully considered detail, such as the hand-pleated back yoke and contrast-coloured ruffle plackets on the neck and cuffs.

“As with the whole SS19 collection, this shirt epitomises the slow, sustainable and mindful methods we use to produce our clothing, working with some incredibly talented weavers, embroiderers and tailors who lovingly and individually craft each and every piece.”

I am wearing with Levi’s mon jeans, Manebi espadrilles, Loel & co necklace and Wicker Wings bag (bag, necklace & jeans gifts) See  The Small Home ruffle shirt (gift) here.

A white airy cotton shirt is the ultimate summer staple and this one has the prettiest frill cuffs & collar details. It has an oversized fit, I am wearing a size Small. Pulling on a pair of mom jeans and loosely tucking the shirt in while slipping into a pair of easy-wear espadrilles makes this the perfect spring daywear. I added my leather jacket too today as still a bit chilly despite the sun!
