Yes the weather is all over the place right now, but despite the plethora of macs and DMs I saw out and about today, my mind is firmly fixed on summer with these two summer perfect tops from Stoke Newington boutique Hub and & Other Stories…
And for me, an easy summer look – when it’s not sweltering and all you can wear is a vest and shorts or very big airy lightweight dress – is a nice shirt with a pair of jeans striking just the right note of casual cool but made a slight, wink, effort.
Big white silky shirts with long sleeves can be easily rolled up and are always a go to – my two favourites are this one from The White Company and this one from The Small Home – but sometimes it’s nice to mix things up with something a bit different!

The Elegant Blouse
A little more feminine is something blousey and quite elegant. This beautiful soft cotton top, handcrafted in Leicester, from Hub boutique’s own brand Allsea is quite something – limited edition (only 12 pieces have been made, comes in different colours) and it sits so well with just the right amount of fabric to tuck into jeans. It would also look lovely loose, for those of you a bit taller than me 😉

The Utility Shirt
But even better, for their utility workwear feel is a short sleeved shirt with pockets, this one is from & Other Stories, who really can do no wrong!

The Ribcage Jeans
I’m wearing both these shirts with jeans of the moment, the Levi’s ribcage which have a fabulously high button fly waist. I’m in between sizes with jeans, so have gone done for this more fitted, snug look which is kind of what you want to do with this style I think! They are tight, but with the button fly will loosen up (mine are loosening slowly, lol!). Also just never wash them I’ve been told, ha!
