Friday Fashion Notes | Oversized Cardigans

Friday Fashion Notes | Oversized cardigans A little sartorial pick-me-up as I find myself champing at the bit for Spring! I’ve been having a browse online and falling a little in love with oversized cardigans…

While Spring ’21 is all about big collars, puffed sleeves and oversized silhouettes, for those more casual moments (well, me most of the time!) oversized cardigans are just the thing! An elegant but casual layer that will work over every Spring dress and jeans & tee combo… Add a vintage silk scarf,  make-your-own craftcore bag and an art-deco inspired jewellery classic which will all make for a laidback casual spring look (dresses soon I promise!)…

Oversized Cardigans

With oversized cardigans being how I plan to work this Spring (Scottish springs will always need a warm layer to wrap up in!) I’m taking on this Mother of Pearl intarsia cardigan knit – which has been turned into a kit for Wool & The Gang (use JULIA REBAUDO as your referral for 15% on all WATG) as my next knit project – hurry, they’ve just restocked the colours! For the non-knitter season this investment piece is available from Net-a-Porter in a SS21 beautiful beige & black mix. Or take a look at my edit below…

Style Notes

  • Also some eye-catching collabs to note. H&M x Simone Rocha is puff dresses and oversized silhouettes to the max and some cute red tartan to boot – launches March 11.
  • Alexa Chung’s Barbour range has some extremely covetable new styles (I love this one!) which, if outdoor life is going to carry on strong (Outdoorsy Core Polly Vernon is calling it!) these are absolutely worthwhile investment pieces.
  • I’ve also completely fallen for & Daughter’s knit-fantastic Winter Market range bringing all the crafting woollen feels…
  • And definitely worth a mention is Rixo launching (coming soon!) a bridal collection –which is the one wedding dress I wish I could have had! Mine was a vintage dress from Annie’s in Camden Passage for the record…

Till next week…!
