Last weekend we hit The Dome in Tufnell Park for the first North London Big Fish Little Fish family rave. It was the first time I’d been along to an event like this and yep, I was in for a surprise…
Kids everywhere! Pretty much having the time of their lives. Fuelled by delicious organic ice cream from Ruby Violet even the downstairs baby chill out zone furnished with numerous inflatable toys was a riot. In the staged hall upstairs, where the real action was going down, there was a bar for the adults, craft tables for the littles and a Leaping Lizards kids clothes stall as well as the glitter covered dance floor, Christmas tree and entrancing bubble machine. Electro disco from Miss JT and Si Begg (at safe sound levels) got the party going. Cue a kiddie stage invasion and hilarious rave throwback involving a huge white parachute canopy. Gus didn’t go for it, but afterwards when the floor cleared a little, he was in his element.
Great afternoon, great way to spend the hours of 2-4 on a wintry Sunday afternoon. A big thank you to the organisers for inviting me and pals along. The next Big Fish Little Fishes will be taking place in Brixton (Dec 14 & Jan 18) and Crouch End (Jan 25). See you there! Buy tickets here.
