About

I am a freelance writer and photographer by way of philosophy degrees to postgraduate level at Edinburgh University and a first job in philosophy book publishing with Routledge.

To date I have worked and written for a wide variety of online and print publications – see my archive at juliarebaudo.com – collaborated with and consulted for numerous lifestyle and fashion brands large and small and had the pleasure of being an Olympus digital photography ambassador teaching and organising Pen camera workshops in and around London.

More recently I find myself relocated from the busy hubbub of London life to the captivating Scottish Highlands embracing the pleasures of creating a hilltop garden and keeping bantam chickens while pursuing my passion for making and creating through weaving, knitting and crochet.

Working with unspun raw fleece from my small flock of rare breed Shetland sheep, I have fallen in love with the undyed varying hues and texture of the wool; this year I have started to hand clip my sheep for the first time – an incredibly satisfying experience!

I am passionate about the beauty and sustainability of raw wool and devoted to showcasing it in all its unique beauty and enduring longevity with the making of cruelty free and regenerative pieces of woven art. You can see more at textilesbyjuliarebaudo.com
