Boy By Band of Outsiders SS13

Boy By Band of Outsiders SS13

Utterly utterly blown away by the SS13 collection from LA’s Boy By Band of Outsiders. Beautiful flowing pieces, Japanese design influence (the label’s biggest market is Tokyo), a bit of a military edge (inspired by The Hunger Games, not a favourite film of designer Scott Sternway but inspiring in how movies “…make war into a light, beautiful thing” which of course it’s not, but this is fashion) and – dare I say it, in the current mood of Anna dello Russo’s Fashion is always uncomfortable, when you feel comfortable, you never get the look,” as she sings in her Fashion Shower video for H&M (something which I will always disagree with because I just cannot function if I’m not comfortable – wow, it feels like a dirty word!) – totally wearable. (Nice to see this sentiment also expressed in the comments section of The Sartorialist’s post.) I want practically every single look in my wardrobe right now. The strapless jumpsuits, the one-shouldered midi dresses, the bright bandeaus, the shibori-dyed wrap skirts and baggy trousers. As far as personal style inspiration goes this fashion month, I think I’ve already found it. See the full collection on style.com
