Snapshots from the beach and the springtime in Portugal…

For all its so-so press (plastic resort seaside towns for tourists and destination golfers), I’m finding the south of Portugal truly magical this spring. Between the abundance of wildflowers dotted all over the rural parts set back from the coast and the clean, sandy beaches and rolling waves, well, it’s like a little slice of heaven in perfect climate. I’ve been taking it easy looking after the little one, but an extended party have been cycling and contemplating surfing all up the south-west coast, returning with stories of exquisite guesthouses, breathtaking mountain rides and delicious meals.
