A Bikini Edit – Spring 2013

bikinis
So, bikinis. These days you’ve got your prints (animal inspired, natch), florals and geometrics in string, bandeau and structured.

I’m ultra un-adventurous when it comes to bikinis. I’ve been wearing the same mis-matched block-coloured string separates by American Apparel for nearly five years now. (Apart from my recent emergency departure into this bright floral number). But even if you’re keeping the same style, it’s nice to update on the prints. This year I’d totally go for something animal inspired and I’m loving these galloping horses – the exquisitely expensive We Are Handsome (find the horses on the back) and Topshop’s take in cool, icy blue.  I like the houndstooth in monochrome from the quite fabulous Lara Ventura (the underwear is amazing, cue separate post) and when it comes to florals, I think the abstracter the better for 2013. Of course, the above styles are great if you have a smaller bosom (I’ve always been a B) but for bigger sizes, here are some very elegant pieces by Heidi Klein, although on the pricier side. Try My Curves and Me for cheap bikinis for D cup and up.
