Unfortunately I wasn’t able to make the runway show, with model Jourdan Dunn no less, but popped along later to a huge basement space in Bloomsbury Square’s Victoria House devoted to womenswear, menswear, childrenswear, homeware, a drinks area and beauty nook (yes, I fitted in a lovely mani in Essie’s Cute As a Button coral hot pink). Swathed in white curtains, it felt quite futuristic.
What really stood out for me was the homeware, all fun and sparkly (not many people realise what a big homeware department Next has) and the menswear – a really cool colour palette of blues, burnt oranges and ochre, see the rail snaps below. My photos of the womenswear didn’t come out that well (a white balance schoolgirl error) but I have posted this quite amazing Dr. Zhivago-esque winter coat. Imagine getting all wrapped up in that come the snowflakes.
