Baby and toddler shoes are pretty high up my scale of cuteness and I nearly exploded when I saw these adorable Sorel snowboots for the little one…

Gus only just started walking last month, so the whole buying shoes experience is a new one that I am flipping out over. For his first proper pair,  I went to John Lewis and had his feet measured properly. So glad I did, as it turns out he’s pretty wide around the foot and not many styles come in a G. Luckily there were a cute pair of toddler Kickers that did and he’s been wearing them out ever since, stamping in puddles and mud on our daily walks. But given that we’re just at the start of winter I’ve been thinking about getting something a bit more weather proof.

So when Surfdome got in touch offering a £30 voucher to spend on the site, I jumped at the chance to get my hands on these Sorel beauties. They actually came in a £44.99, but are so worth it – they’d survive a snowstorm. They are quite heavy so they’re taking a little getting used to, but I got them in his size (made the mistake of buying wellies too big that he never wears!) so he feels comfortable wearing them. They are actually a half-size up but that can be remedied with an extra pair of socks. Anyway, I’m really impressed with the quality and desperate for a pair for myself. You can find Gus’s pair right here and check this page for more Sorel styles, including adults.

I took these photos on our morning walk around Hackney Marshes. By the Lea Valley ice rink there’s a riding school where you can pop in and see the horses. Gus loves visiting them, though is still building up the courage to actually stroke a nose! And did I mention the cows on the marshes, plus all the gorgeous swans on the canal? I love these morning walks as they’re full of nature and animals and a great way to excite, enthuse and tire out a toddler. By the time we get back for lunch, he’s usually so pooped he falls asleep halfway through eating, for a good hour and a half!

Anyway, I’m off to check out and take some photos at Camden Lock’s Christmas Market – I’m hoping to get tonnes of present ideas so I’ll keep you posted!
