Some lovely new things have found their way into and under the Stylonylon auspices – the most beautifully labeled and so well-priced scented candles, and the coolest pair of espadrilles I ever did see…
Baileys candles are just £16 for a full-size one; burns 36 hours, made out of soya from sustainable sources and the packaging, also with the cute label, is made from recycled cardboard. Scented candles are pretty much part and parcel of a civilised life these days, aren’t they? But the cost can be prohibitive (hello, £40 Diptique candles, I’m looking at you), so it’s great to find ones that do the job just as perfectly. I have the fig one burning on my desk right now in a bid to banish this day’s appalling greyness.
Now, the espadrilles I spied on Lucy from Fashion Me Now (damn, I love everything that girl wears, visiting her blog is dangerous!) and I was all set to buy them in a cream canvas from the Manebi site but then found them on Net-a-Porter in black, which is just so cool. And I canceled my original order (never really done this before, but apparently not a problem!) and snaffled these pony hair ones.
They are quite neat-fitting and for a moment I thought about going a size up, but actually espadrilles do clad you feet quite snugly, don’t they? And they are perfectly comfortable. I think I’m getting too used to Birks and just letting my feet spread (I also have a sneaking suspicion that my feet my have gone up a half size since being pregnant which I am in total denial about…).
So, nothing like gorgeous things and pink tulips to lift you out of today’s punishing grey skies and raindrops. I hope these photos cheer you up as much as they have me!
