When things got a bit stormy and capricious weather wise at the weekend, I brewed some tea, broke up some super dark chocolate and had a little flick through the quite fabulous new DIY book Adorn (currently no. 1 on Amazon in the fashion category) by bloggers Kit from Style Slicker and Shini from Park and Cube…
Well-known and adored for their gorgeously designed blogs with superb photography, both Kit and Shini often post their DIY projects and thus this book came about. The book is split up into 25 projects – perfectly laid-out visual tutorials from a chain-strap camisole to a painted acrylic clutch bag – and full of lots of lovely little touches, like tips on what bits and pieces to source for your DIY biscuit tin.
These are just the kind of things I always say I’m going to do but never do, so I am hugely impressed by the sheer quantity of beautifully completed projects – nine times out of ten if I do get down to a little DIY, the results are often quite questionable! Browsing through the projects, there are definitely some I reckon I could do without too much mishap though, so my promise to myself is to clear some time for a little therapeutic DIY – I’m dying to get on with a camera strap embellishment project, I’ve even got everything laid out ready to go!
Have you got any DIY projects on the go at the moment? If you do, let the Adorn girls know about them by tweeting @adorn25official and #adorn25.
