I’ve been dying to show you these picture of my new favourite Clapton café – you may have seen me posting their delicious Eggs Florentine on Instagram already! Founded with a legacy left to Shakespeare’s Globe artistic director Dominic Dromgoole by novelist Maeve Bincy, Maeve’s Kitchen is a little slice of relaxed bohemia…
Inside the walls are a vibrant mustard orangey yellow and jamjars of fresh flowers and red and white checked napkins decorate the tables. Right from the start, I was enamoured with the decor and the super friendly vibe. Sitting outside is bliss, the bright blue walls, walled plant pots and free-standing Mexican tiles in the sunlight are really quite delightful.
So far I’ve just been for yummy lunches of scrambled eggs & smoked salmon and Clapton-baked muffins during the day, but come night-time a delicious-looking Italian inspired evening menu takes over until 10.30pm. Must do that soon! As you can see I was a bit trigger-happy on the camera, but how could I not, all so gorgeous. I’ll stop wittering on and let the pictures do the talking… In case you’re planning a trip, Maeve’s is closed Mondays and between 5-6pm as they prepare for the evening. Let me know if you make it over!
