What To Wear In The Desert

Too much denim goodness at the MiH Jeans SS15 press day and so much beautiful light in their showroom I just had to share some (ok, many) pics…

On display were hit jean styles – the Phoebe, the flared Marrakesh, the Bodycon skinny (I’ve just bought this pair!) – making their way through to next spring in new washes and with new detailing; pale greys, soft blues, braided detailing and embroidered patchwork. Standout pieces were the billowy soft silky culottes, a 70s A-line denim skirt, a loose-cut boiler suit (of which there is one in every collection) and a relaxed indigo blue jersey shirt named after founder Chloe Lonsdale’s mother Chekkie and inspired by the shirts she used to wear.

The fun inspo bit incorporates Japanese design aesthetics seen in kimono cut tops and a boxy denim jacket (also, as seen previously in the Shibori pieces) plus 70s Arizona desert bohemian counterculture of Arcosanti – an experimental town which explored combining architecture and ecology. Fyi,  had to wiki that. So now I want to hang out and keep cool on hot dusty days in slouchy jumpers, pinafore dress, easy denim and cotton laser cut blouses. Yes, I am obsessed and could probably dress only from these rails like, forever. Plus there was the most delicious food…
