Let’s Pretend

Chasing the summer sun seems to be all the rage this cold December. I have friends jetting off to Tulum, Kerala, Goa and Sri Lanka. We, on the other hand, will be negotiating the treacherous weather bomb up the high roads of Scotland…

Nonetheless, I thought a little cheery beach colour on the blog wouldn’t do anyone any harm, except in the ensuing day-dreamy sense… But just look at the stunning colours on this PilyQ bikini FGS! Ipanema beach here I come… It used to be that buying bikinis in winter time was practically impossible. These days, we have the interweb. Beach Cafe, as well as stocking gorgeous beachwear also has some lovely travel editorial too – some nice suggestions for what to wear and wear to stay in Santorini for example… Ah, that is somewhere I would love to go back to!

Now, playing out the fantasy, if I was going somewhere hot and sunny, raffia bag and super-cool visor would be essentials, but I’d also take a few products from newly discovered and reasonably priced vegan & organic skincare brand Nourish. Really impressed these days with all the new natural brands that don’t cost the earth and do a good job. I’ve found the Argan Skin Rescue and Perfect Hydrating Moisturiser more than adequate for my drying winter skin. Plus the Kale Exfoliating Cleanser is perfect for freshening up skin for the beach…  reality check, this exfoliator has been perfect for sorting out my skin after about two weeks of an aggressive cold & cough!

Cute little gold necklaces are my thing at the moment, and while searching online for gorgeous new delicate bits I discovered US brand Gramercy Eight (founder Rebecca launched the brand after recovering from a serious accident). Inspirational stuff and lots of handmade deliciousness to be snapped up there. I also bought this ring too, in rose gold, seems there’s only silver left now…

For the uninitiated (including me!) these are Flash Tattoos, transfers which last up to 4-6 days, or you can remove them with baby oil. I haven’t tried them yet, but they look bloody good on a tan if the products pics are anything to go by…
