Freshly made pizza straight from a hand-built brick oven rates pretty high on my list of tastiest things ever and Hackney canal arts pop-up Loven Presents has pretty much nailed it. The lovely Kate and Fabrizio treated me to a very special lunch today, so feast your eyes…!
And although really it’s all about the pizza – so, so good! – there is more to it, and I don’t just mean the delicious starters, desserts and hot cocktails; I couldn’t say no to a hot tea & cider! See past menus here. The concept behind Loven Presents, masterminded by Kate, an architect & artist and Fabrizio, a Sicilian pizzaiolo is an artisan Italian-influenced food in a space curated and designed by a collective of artists (check all the different event concepts through past invites).
Debuted in September, the al fresco riverside supper club – located in the outside space of Kate’s artist studio space – has taken place weekly and has been such a success the couple have launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise money to fund a permanent space for the pizza parties.
With just two more events to go, this Thursday & Sunday, do get down if you are local! Or if you’d like to get involved in the Kickstarter, check it out here – all sorts of rewards in return for differing amounts, from loyalty cards and pizza making lessons to having your name inscribed on a brick destined for the building of the next pizza oven.
