Rose Gold Langour

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Delicate rose gold necklaces, most often layered in pairs, have got me by the neck (hehe, soz!) these winter months. And yet still I keep searching for  the one. You know, The One. That’s just the right length, sits just perfectly and never needs to be taken off…

Consider the one found. In the form of this handmade rose gold plated necklace* by Spanish designer Antonio Bayona. I was contacted recently by the Valencian jewellery maker’s London-based daughter Alba – a product designer and now jewellery designer, collaborating with her family on their own line. Alba designs and her father Antonio does the making, while her mother and sister are also involved with the business and bespoke orders in Spain.

The pieces are so perfect in their design, delicate, beautiful and considered, which is exactly what Alba herself is like – we had a lovely coffee last week and she so impressed me with her sweet intelligence and exuberant nature. The core collection focuses on these pretty pieces with a clean, minimalist aesthetic like this necklace and also this angular design in bracelet and necklace – both of which I’ve just bought for family members for Christmas and which haven’t broken the bank! But there are also some bigger and more colourful pieces too, I am head over heels for this turquoise and rose gold ring, which has the prettiest underside too.

Also in these pictures is the gorgeously-packaged SHOW Beauty Pure Treatment Oil* – I hadn’t come across SHOW Beauty until a fab blow-dry by them in Selfridges recently . The retro bottle is such a beautiful addition to my dressing table – a crazy mess of necklaces and rings I must admit! – and something of a godsend hair product. Not something that would have interested me up until recently, but now that I’m trying to wear my hair down more and using tongs to boot, I suddenly totally get the frizzy hair thing and this dry oil with Argan is the perfect panacea. Once on, it basically evaporates leaving no slickness or oiliness, just smoothness. And it smells delicious too.

I love how these pictures came out, there’s something languorously 70s about them, slightly grainy with the colours a tad desaturated and muted. I haven’t held back but posted a whole load as I love them so – a bit of an extended Sunday spread for you…
