My mum looking incredible at work in her Bond Street office (she ran her own lifestyle PR company, which probably explains a lot about me!) many moons ago, 1970 she tells me. I take a lot of inspiration from my mum’s relationship with style and her clothes and jumped at the chance to put together an outfit for her…
Clothes and style is a language we share and can talk endlessly about. My mum’s seen me through all my style choices and I often go back to her for advice or encouragement. And she can always be relied upon to tell it as it is. Too tight white jeans when skinnies first came out were my weakness but probably not my best look!
Asked by Land’s End to style my mum an outfit for Mother’s Day was a lovely idea but really not a difficult challenge. My mum’s style is pretty synonymous with my own – classic pieces that fit well is what it could be reduced down to I think. So there was no question of me choosing anything that wouldn’t fit in seamlessly with her current wardrobe. Especially as she already has quite a few pieces from Land’s End I found out afterwards!
The Outfit
I started with a classic white shirt and straight-leg jeans both of which have been wardrobe staples over the last few years and kept it simple with a navy cable knit and these super cute moccasins, definitely need a pair of these in my life! What do you think? Luckily my mum loved it!
