3 East London Stores You Have To Visit Right Now

ModernSociety1I love city life, there’s always something new waiting for you around the corner, especially in east London. This winter is a bit like a delicious smörgåsbord of sartorial treats with an exciting new permanent store and a couple of pop-ups you don’t want to miss…

You’ll probably have seen my love affair blossom on Instagram with this newly opened haven of gorgeousness, Modern Society, on Redchurch Street. I fell over myself to buy Anine Bing for the first time – jeans, oversized knit and bra – and then went back for more! Including a super cute little cactus mister. The store, which also has a divine little coffee bar with Parisienne style tables in the shop window, is an exquisitely curated edit of owner Nazifa’s favourite brands. In addition to being the only UK store to stock Anine Bing, look out for Etre Cecile, Blake LDN, Frame and loads of others including amaze jewellery brands, books, accessories and magazines. I took a tonne of photos the last time I was there, so these coming soon along with a little ‘5 Things’ interview with Nazifa… stay tuned!

Atterley Atterley_01

Last week I popped over to Brushfield Street to check out the just opened Atterley pop-up. So now its own brand – formerly Atterley curated an affordable but gorgeous mix of UK and Scandi brands – the collection is made up of wardrobe staples (the brilliant merino jumpers come in at a very nice £50), wearable separates with a twist (including a fab blazer which fits like a glove) and some more velvet inclined party pieces. The new CEO Sal and creative director Becky (ex- ASOS and Topshop) are dynamic, fun and super passionate about providing clothes for women who want something that’s not the usual but doesn’t cost the earth. Job well done.

The Basics Store

TheBasicsStoreI was obsessed with this pop-up by Marina London last time – when on Redchurch Street, see my photos here – so was delighted to discover the new Basics Store pop-up on Rivington Street opens today. Last we saw a beautifully strict edit of Marina’s favourites which a stunning colour palette, including jewellery by my favourites Clarice Price Thomas and Jessie Harris, bags by Danielle Foster as well as Marina’s own silk collection and knits by Blake LDN, so I cannot wait to see what’s in store this time!
