On entering, the vibe is warm and welcoming with a cup of tea to have indoors or outside in the very pretty courtyard. With soft low chairs, coffee table and dining room table set up by the big garden doors it feels like stepping into someone’s living room. Downstairs there are three treatment rooms – rather than the more minimal, super bare approach of many spas, Gazelli is more about home comforts and indulgent pretty things. The gorgeous black floral tiles and copper and marble fittings in the treatment rooms are a wonderful combination of opulent cosiness, somewhere to recline and flourish. Opened late 2015, the business was founded by Azerbaijani Dr. Zarifa Hamzayeva who over the last 40 years has formulated her own range of well-received skincare products with a trademark Gazelli White Oil, produced only in Azerbaijan. The cosy establishment welcomes its clients in for tea and to sit and work there too, creating a mini community vibe.[/ezcol_1half] [ezcol_1half_end]My treatment with massage therapist Alex was a bespoke massage, which in many ways, makes a lot of sense; we all have our own funny mix of aches and pains and certain areas that need attention. Half an hour was devoted to a health & wellbeing overview with questions from Alex on all aspects of my self-care routine. Alex, highly-trained and extremely knowledgeable spoke a lot of sense and gave me some really useful tips too. Her particular massage approach involved infrared light, hot steam towels and ultra violet light applied to the problem muscles. The combination of heat and expert massage technique made for a next-level experience; I’ve never felt my muscles so well dealt with. I knew the effects would last well beyond that day. In addition to the treatments, Gazelli also offer a range of holistic and well-being therapies, designed to address every sort of wellness journey, from self-esteem and anxiety issues to body image, relationships and more. Their healer was spoken of in such revered terms – she does a range of therapies – I’m booking myself in with her pronto![/ezcol_1half_end]

One thing I absolutely loved was the little bowel full of crystals to place your jewellery in for aura cleansing while have your treatment. Such a lovely touch! And I’ve have recreated this at home with a little brass pot and pink crystal…
