I’ll admit, I’m slightly obsessed with tortoiseshell rimmed sunglasses (and specs, if you must know). I think as far as style staples go, they are high up the list. Whether you’re a committed round the year shades wearer, or hot bright sunlight only, you just can’t go wrong with this beautiful patterning (real tortoiseshell, now banned, was made from the shell of the hawksbill turtle – today’s synthetic version is often Delrin). And oh, the variations on tortoiseshell – light, dark, subtle, graphic… I won’t tell you what style of frame to pick, only you know what suits you best (tip: the aim is to balance out your features, so narrow forehead = a wider/chunkier frame, wide forehead = a narrower/lighter frame. I wear thick framed rectangular wayfarers to balance out my narrow forehead) but I will point you in the direction of a 10% discount for first time buyers, free delivery and no fuss returns. Check out online designer sunglasses retailer Red Hot Sunglasses (and their new site design) and use the Promo Code MAKEOVER10 at check-out. And yes, I reckon, sunnies in the winter really ought to be done, I’m too shy, but maybe you’re not!
