I had such great fun photographing these beautiful pieces from new online jewellery company Portuguese Heart. Traditional filigree (filigranas) handmade in the north of Portugal – in the towns of Viana do Castelo and Gondomar – I really hadn’t seen anything quite as delicately made before. Just launched a couple of months ago, the brand is already building up a loyal customer base – “I have customers who have bought one piece, and then come back for a second and a third,” the Lisbon-born founder Catarina Araujo told me (extremely accommodating, Catarina is only too happy to source different sizes and finishes for her customers). And I can see why; each piece feels like something extremely special, when held in your hand and when worn – no wonder Portuguese brides wear this jewellery on their wedding day. For me, the intricate work is perfectly paired with light, floaty white and these are exactly the kind of pieces I’ll be wearing this summer come Ibiza time.

This is fantastic work, however i really love the jewellery box that you showcase, any idea where i could buy that?
