Introducing Model & Musician James Rousseau – A Beautiful Fiasco

This gorgeously shot music video – that soft LA light is killing me – just in from the super-talented James Rousseau. A model for the biggies, James is looked after by Select and has worked on campaigns and runway with YSL, Hugo Boss, Gucci and Tom Ford and editorial with Vogue, GQ and Elle among others – check out this delicious Nina Ricci perfume ad from last year starring the handsome boy. Blessed with one of those magical faces both boys and girls fall over themselves to get closer to – believe me I’ve seen this in action and it’s pretty jaw-dropping stuff – he is one of the most down-to-earth guys I’ve ever met. But let’s talk about the music. An authentic singer-songwriter, James pens ballads at his guitar Chelo and wins over his audiences with a stripped down live set: him and a buddy switching between a couple of guitars, keyboard and manually playing drum samples. Oh, and don’t forget the tambourine. He also has an impressive collection of old-school Casio keyboards, plus, as you can hear, The Beatles are a big influence. Probably worth mentioning that last year James opened for Snow Patrol on their US tour and Coldplay are already big fans. As one You Tube commenter puts it (I paraphrase) “How is this guy not famous already?” My thoughts exactly, which is why I’m super excited the lovely James has agreed to let me interview him later this month about his modelling and music and maybe even snap a few photos. This is, of course, a man who truly has Blue Steel down to a fine art. In the meantime, you can follow James and his music antics on Twitter @rousseau_music  and on his Facebook page.
